This feature allows you to pick a certain volume amount of logs out of a pile. This is especially useful if you need to load a specific volume onto a truck and need to know the optimal way to remove the logs from the pile. Also it is a good way to catalogue it.

To use this feature you need to start a measurement like any other. Once you get into the 3rd step of the measurement (fine-tuning) process, you can see there is a excavator icon on the top left.

Tap on the icon. In the window that appears, you can mark the volume that you need to remove from the current pile. To make it easier, you can also choose on which side you would like to remove the logs from – left, right or top. You can also choose the angle in which the remaining pile will stay.

The max volume shown is the current volume of the entire pile, so you can not remove more than the entire pile.

Once you have put the parameters in place, tap OK.

You can then see the logs that would be removed, marked by red circles. If you are not happy with the result, you can tap the excavator icon again to choose a different side or a different angle to better suit your needs.

Once you tap next you will then see only the measurement for the logs that are to be removed.

Hit next and your measurement will be complete.
